'07ST factory crossbars REMOVED! Instructions included

Sweet. Glad someone has the time to mess with this stuff... Now all I need is the time to get out there and put on my Yakima to see if I like it....

From the photos, it looks to me as if the end caps are designed to slide off, not pop off..

Hey Eddie, they won't slide off as I've tried this. The yellow plastic clip looks like it should just slide out of the cap as you pull rearward. I got the back end up just enough to clear the rubber base and they wouldn't slide rearward, only back down. I guess if you were a weight lifter you might be able to do it, tho.



The base, which is bolted to the truck, had an oblong hole where the clip would go in to support the downward/forward movement that one would apply to the cap when reinstalling. It also had a little space to stick a screwdriver in there to pry the yellow plastic clip out of the base. It looks like Ford actually realized that people would need to get it out of there. I didn't like prying, so I used a needle nose to yank it out.
