03 ST door.

03 ST drivers door will not unlock by keypad. remote, inside door handle or door lock lever when the temperature gets cold. Remote start it and after the interior gets warm or the outside temp gets to 30 the door works fine. Any idea how to cure this problem besides moving to a warmer climate?.

If you haven't yet, flush out ALL the door latches with penetrant followed with lithium spray or grease. Also lube the key cylinders. Explorer door locks are known for various failures.

This happened to me on a Bronco a few years back. It is the actuator getting weak, you'll have to replace it. Not a bad job, just fiddly. If I remember correctly you'll need a very short 1/4" bolt with a low profile head and a nut to replace the rivet that will need drilled out.

Drilling the rivet not necessary. Pry the actuator out of the bracket. Link below.
