Anyone else check the latest Bond flick out?



Being a huge fan I went to an early show yesterday.



It was pretty badass! The stunts were pretty amazing and Criag delivers a really harsh, revengeful Bond...



Plus the Jack White and Alicia Key's "Another Way to Die" is pretty good too!!



A totally new generation of Bond movies is here.... go check it out! :)
 
I'm a little surprised to hear that -- Yours is the first positive review that I have heard for Quantum.



I think I will wait until the DVD. I was VERY disappointed in Casino Royale. I don't like this "sensitive" Bond.

I saw it the first day and it was a very good flick. Gone are the gadgets that turn Bond movies into super hero comic book status. With only a little stretch, the events could actually happen. The new Bond in my opinion is a better bond for today. The old Bond, was just that, the old Bond. Great for its time but now old. Just like Star Wars was a WOW. The same special effects are now just routine. I'd give it an 8/10.

Bond is going darker... like Batman and any other franchise. Perhaps we live in a more cynical time and that's why we're seeing films that were once cheery in color go dark.



Craig is one of the best Bonds... Next to Moore! :)

 
Saw it last night.



It was very good. Better than the last two Bourne films, and better than Casino Royal, IMHO.



Probably the best Bond film I have seen since the Moore Bond films started getting too schticky ("The Spy who Loved Me" and on...when Jaws entered the Moore Bond films "jumped the shark").

I was also surprised to hear good comments. I haven't seen it yet, but several people here told me it was bad...none said it was good. One, who is the huge Bond fan, said it is the worst of all Bond films.
 
At over $70M it's opening weekend it had the best opening of any Bond film.



Of course, such an achievement doesn't adjust previous openings for inflation (I think).
 
One last thing...



If you like your Bond with campy villians, and gadgets, and suave sex with the bad-guys right-hand gal, then this isn't your kind of Bond. I think it is the lack of these things that makes the die-hard Bond fans not so hot on this new film.



If you want a tighter, faster, more vengefilled Bond that kicks butt and is non-stop action, then you will like this movie.

Uhhh......





not to rain on the parade...





But it was AT BEST a B-





Plot was weak... Action was good... Kinda felt like a Transporter Flick more than a Bond.



The need to quicken the pace in getting closer to the original formula! I mean... NO Vodka Martini shaken not stirred? - Intro with another Male singer...





I liked bond more when he was a secret agent and not a action hero... stunts are cool but not at the expense of the plot.



Also, the 'villians' have been very weak thus far.
