What do I say to people?

Certainly thank them for supporting our troops, but its your call on explaining what occurred. I suppose its something akin to people asking a plump woman when she's due. People sometimes assume they have made the appropriate diagnosis but are simply speaking out of turn lol. I have a...

Where Is The FIRST Place To Look For INTERIOR Rattles?

    Drinking & Driving

Good on ya Gary D! If there is one thing I have learned in my life so far, it's that if I take the opportunity to do the WRONG thing I'll certainly be called on it. :driving: When I was newly married, my wife made some bad judgement calls while I was away. She didn't get caught or hurt...

    Keypad entry

Also consider vinyl cement. Its used for bonding vinyl fabrics and materials and will not degrade the item it is applied to. I think you can get a tube for about 5 bucks at Lowes.

    Keypad entry

Drew, Sorry about the 01-05 link. Wasn't trying to send you the wrong way! I'm glad you were able to locate your code on the SJB. For the glue you decide to use, you may want to stop by a leather shoe repair shop and see if they will let you bum or tip use of some of their sole...

    Keypad entry

Drew, I believe this is still accurate for the location of the keyless entry code. <a href="http://www.mysporttrac.com/MySportTrac/projects/LocatingYourKeylessEntry%20Code2001FORDSPORTTRAC.pdf" target="_newwindow">Locating your keyless entry code.</a> When I was in the shoe...

    New Brakes and Rotors

To echo Eddie's statement, I use better pads with the OEM rotors. I immediately noted better performance, and I have a habit of braking heavy. Took the pads off for inspection after about 1k miles and haven't seen any evidence of damage or excessive wear. The pads I use are ceramic...

    Changing Shocks (Rear)?!

Rigdog, *cry* I figured the T-55 part out after buying a kit that only went up to T-50 lol. I damaged one bolt because the darn things are in there super tight. I've been looking for a replacement, but it looks like Junkyard or Ford are the only options for that bolt. Yardsale...

Mossberg 590A1 12 ga under the bed. Got an excellent deal on it from a shotgun collector who fired a box through it and didn't like the feel. Works perfect for me

Absolutely mindblowing video shot from the Space Shuttle during launch

Interesting, can't help but feel awed / captivated watching that. That kind of science isn't part of the daily routine of many things mechanical or otherwise. Thanks for sharing!

    Referb stuff

Refurb small electronis are typically ok since usually its only the replacement of a screen or moving parts and the occasional battery problem. Might have cosmetic scratches. If Amazon wants to back it with a full warranty then you can spend the 30 bucks on accessories lol. Now, a $600...

    Cleaning Products

Agreed, Bob C. One can only 'correct' a clearcoat to remove imperfections and apply a polish, sealant, or protectant overtop. The way to do that is use a corrective polish like Meguiars 105 / 205. Of course the average clearcoat thickness is less than that of a post-it note... It is...

Tire / MPG / Spedo / Gear Ratio Calculator

I searched, but had not seen any prior mention of this site so I figured I'd offer it along. <a href="http://www.snoman.com/HTML/axlecalc_5a.html" target="_newwindow">Snoman - Axle Ratio & Tire Size Calculations</a> In my quest to 'do stuff' to my ST, I'm considering larger tires...

Collinite 845 is excellent for protecting and shining any rims with a basecoat / clearcoat. Both Meguiars and Mothers make a power drill adapter to make polishing easier, and with that use something like Mothers Mag / Aluminum Polish (unprotected or exposed metal surfaces).
