    Xcal2 for sale

Hi all! I'm putting my Xcal2 up for sale for $150 or best offer. It currently has three tunes on it for the Gen1 Sport trac with ecm code JCZ2. I returned my Trac to the stock programming, so the unit can be reprogrammed for other ecm codes. Drop me an email if you're interested.

    Detroit auto show

I spent two hours at the Ford display this morning. Pretty cool stuff there. They have a mustang boss 302 on a chassis dyno inside the hall.

    The new Ranger

Seems like it's about the size of the 2nd gen Sport Trac. We won't get it though.

    ST is Back Home

I got my ST back yesterday. The shop said that both heads were damaged when the timing chain broke. So I went with a rebuilt 12k/12mo warranty. The idle is a bit rough, but they said that the engine computer may need a little time to re-learn. If it doesn't improve in a day or two, I'll take it...

    Engine is dead

Well, the engine died on my way to work this morning. I had the Trac towed to the dealer so they could take a look at it. I just got a call from them, and they report that the engine has no compression. Possibly a timing chain failure.

    Thank you Todd & Rachel

Thank you Todd and Rachel Z for organizing and running an awesome meet. It's a bit sad to think that this may be the last national meet. And a thank you to Ford as well for their support.

    Earthquake

Anyone in the Northeast feel it? A 5.0 magnitude quake near Ottawa, Canada. It felt like someone was shaking my chair for a minute. Had my monitor rocking back and forth too.

Ford won't bring Ka, Ranger to U.S.

I hope my ST lasts a long time. If Ford's going to abandon the light pickup truck market, I'm going to have to look elsewhere for my next vehicle.

Spy Shots: Ford Ranger mule caught testing in Dearborn

Apparently Ford is serious about a Ranger redesign. Before everyone says how ugly the truck is, remember that it is a test mule. We probably won't see what the actual next gen Ranger will look like until 2010 or 2011.

Spied! Ford Ranger "T6" Global Small Pickup

Ford's recent announcements make it look like the Explorer is moving over to the Flex/Freestyle platform, and the Sport Trac may be gone sometime in 2010 or 2011. For those of us that are interested in a small Ford pickup, here's an indication of where they're going with the Ranger.

Might be the end of the road for the SportTrac.

    Audiosurf

Anyone playing? It creates a video game from the music (MP3, etc.) stored on your computer. It's a simple game, but quite fun.

Snow! - or - I'm dreaming of a White Christmas

It's looking like we'll have a white Christmas this year in Western NY. I spent about an hour yesterday putting in ski trails in the park behind my house. With two storms and now some lake effect, the snow is great. Although, I did see a couple of people go walking by a little while ago. There's...

Louisville - MPG for the trip

I averaged about 22mpg on the highway for the trip. It took just a little more than one tank for the 500 or so miles. My Scangauge II predicted around 480 highway miles per tank of gas on 87 octane. Not too shabby.
