I am putting on a Leer 100XQ cap and would like to remove the tie downs on the outside of the bed. Does anyone know an easy way to cover the molded in anchors for these tie downs with out resorting to body filler and painting the fenders? Maybe something that would screw on in place of the tie downs?

Try doing a search in the projects. Someone on here took theirs off an replaced them with I think sainless plates. If it is not in projects, I bet Todd or someone else could tell you more. Todd I beleive has a cap on his. Good luck

If you search "tie downs" there is a project coneverting the stock ones to a more styled appearance. The billet plates shown in the project are/was sold by a member on this site. Rather than convert the tie downs as in the project just remove the stocks and replace with the billets. I have them and they really add the the appearance of the ST IMO.

Dave got it !!!!

This is why people need to post the year of their ST in the question...

I have the Steeda plates on my white '07 with a Leer 100XQ cap. Pics are in my library. The plates aren't quite as shiny as they appear in the pictures, but I am hoping they dull a little. My preference would have been to powdercoat them white, but I didn't have the time to put into it. Overall I'm very happy with the look. Good quality pieces, easy install. I did one at a time just to make sure the bed didn't shift, especially since the cap was already installed.
