Pulled my valve cover, looked at my cam phaser on the drivers side. Anyone know how to tell if its bad? Also, looks like a tough job to get the chain off... Any pointers?

I was thinking that if I went with a cooler thermostat it would open up sooner, allowing the coolant to keep the engine cooler... Do I have that theory wrong? If so I will change the thermostat tomorrow, lol.

Just did another data log to verify the idle creep is temp dependent. The outside temp right now is 75 degrees. It took 25 minutes of idling for the RPMs to creep up to 980 RPMs, at that point the ECT was reading 206 degrees, the IAT was 180 degrees, cylinder head temp was 216 degrees, trans...
