can the Pats system be disabled? I got a 2004 sport trac not wanting to start all the time, some times it reads the key some times it does't tried spare key got same result

problem starting truck turn key nothing happens only a fast flashing theft light. no power to door locks, lights , battery and connections checked. did get it to work by punching in code on the keyless door pad. does not happen all the time.
