Hey All,

I've recently purchased a new trailer and need to change the wiring on the back of my ST to a 7 pin round from a flat 4. has anyone else tackled this job? and if so, where did you mount your charging solenoid under the hood? and pointers as to how to run the reverse wire, or the brake controller wires (I'm not sure I'm gonna put a brake controller in or not yet). Pictures of the solenoid mounted would be most appreciated.

Thanks

This seems to be better yet. It plugs in-line and you can use either the 4 pin or the 7 pin set up..

And...

Here is a forum I found with details on Ford part numbers and how he did it...

This one speaks of the brake controller and that the wire harness plugs in under the steering wheel. Probably something to take a good look at.

I would highly recommend this part from hoppy, go to

http://www.trailerwiring.com/

search for p/n Part # 47185

i have this, it plugs into the flat-4 plug that is there, and all you need to connect is to +12v, grnd, and your brake controller output.... it is completely sealed, and will not corrode easily....

STanner, I found one of those at my local Canadian Tire, and I think thats the way I'm going to go. Princess Auto here in Edmonton has the exact same thing. for $29.99 CDN

Thanks again.
