Just found site...awesome. My rearend needs rebuilt and only option i can afford is a swap. Two shops wanted $1000-1200 just to put in new ring and pinion. Mine is a 02 sport trac 2wd with drums. I know the 01-02 are the same rearends. My question is...i found a local yard with a complete 02 4x4 rearend including drums for $200, only about 120k miles. Will it bolt in no problem. I have not seen it yet, its about 80 miles away...only phone talk. The gear isnt an issue...just bolting in. Thanks, newbie

Also,...mine is a 2002 and it has DRUM BRAKES in rear. I read they switch to disc in 2002,...did ANY 2002 have drums??

Will it bolt up? Yes, it will bolt in with out any issues.

The 4x4 version had a limited slip rear end, which is a good thing. Some 2wd did not have the limited slip rear end, at least according to google.

Since your 2wd the same ratio would be nice but you can change that, ALSO if you can find a 03-05 you can get the disc upgrade :)
    They all bolt right in.

Okay. Thanks...but ill be more clear. Its my daughters truck, the gear whined, not spending $1200 to rebuild, need cheapest fix. I found a 4x4 axle...it will bolt in. I could careless about upgrades or performance. I can, but wanted direct swap...no changing anything. Thanks though
