wheel rub due to worn body mount?

The front left wheel recently began rubbing the inner fender liner, only when I turn the steering wheel hard to the left. This 2001 4WD 1st Gen truck has only 75k miles, and I'm the first owner. It has the stock size tires, and no modifications to the wheels or anything like that.

A tire store inspected it, and told me this rubbing is due to the body mounts deteriorating, so that the body sits lower on the frame. Is this possible?

VERY common issue with 2001-05 ST's. Did you inspect the body mounts in all eight locations?

Orange foam mounts below the firewall and "B" pillars are usually the first to fail.
