:I am planning on doing the torsion twist and shackles in the near future.

My question is;

Will the shackles lower the payload of the truck?

I have to haul 1 to 3 tons of wood fuel pellets for my pellet stove each fall.

I haul 50, 40 lb bags at a time.:(

from my understanding, the torsion twist wouldn`t really affect it. but when installing the shackles, to get 2' lift you use the 4" over stock on the shackle.

This tells me the leaf spring is being hyper extended.

I don`t want to lose payload from the lift.

thanks

the ranger name is from my ranger bass boat.:D

You are not extending your springs. With the shackles, you are lengthening the distance of your shackle to raise the suspension. You arent extending anything.

The shackles only give you about 1.5" of lift (Warrior shackles anyway) by lowering the rear leaf spring mounting point 1.5". Not enough to affect anything.
