2008 Sport Trac five speed automatic transmission slams into reverse at times. Also changes from second to third hard at times also. While on lift to change pads you could rotate drive shaft and hear a grinding noise from the tail of transmission where drive shaft goes into transmission. Any one have any idea? Any help would be a great help. Thanks Keith

Check the fluid level, Change fluid and filter, and test Bands to see if they are cracked...

Taking it to the care dealer to repair tomorrow. Hopefully they will change the fluid and filter. Check the bands also. It’s also making a noise that coming from the right rear. I know when you turn the drive shaft back and forth a noise comes from the tail end of transmission. Anymore ideas would be a help. Thanks for the info!
