Strange Noise When I back up

Strange noise like buzzing or grinding when ST is backing up in reverse. Doesnt sound like transmission. But it is getting louder like something is grinding. Only happens in reverse.

I went through my Ford Workshop Manual for the Sport Trac and the closest thing I found in the 'symptom chart' with buzzing was:



Condition:

Buzz- buzzing noise is the same at cruise or coast/deceleration



Possible Sources:

Damaged or worn tires

Incorrect driveline angles



Action:

Check for abnormal tire wear or damage...

Check for correct driveline angles...



That's not much info I'm afraid, but I'll keep looking...this manual is huuge!

Do you notice it if the tires are turned or straight? Or does not matter...
