Squelching Sound??

Hello all. I'm not really sure how to explain this noise. It doesn't sound like a bad idler pulley, but I don't know. I've also read that the idle air control valve can cause this type of noise in the intake. Here's a link to a video.

your motor has no IAC. I would say it is a bearing on a pulley. Remove the belt. Then roll each one until you find it.

Thanks..... I was slowly coming to the conclusion that I don't have an IAC. Couldn't find anything anywhere.



I'll check the pulleys.

Just to put this one to bed....I changed the upper left idle pulley and the sound seems to be gone. The bearing in the pulley seemed a little gritty.
