So, I may sell a .22 rifle to a friend of mine, not sure what to ask for it. It's a Marlin 60, hard case, small scope, sling, couple hundred rounds too. Thinking maybe $150? That about right, too high/low? Gun is great shape, haven't shot it in 20 years but always kept it clean

I know the pic is huge, how do I resize it? Took the scale down to 10% and it didn't do anything

How many rounds in the tube magazine? The older guns have 17 round, then reduced to 14 and finally I think down to 10 to comply with the "assault" weapons statutes. Check your local statutes to make sure you are not in violation when buying/selling.

I see the picture did work finally. Anyway, the tube magazine holds 17 rounds

    Check out www.armslist.com

You can narrow the search results by make, caliber, and action (semi-auto, lever, bolt, etc.), and then browse what others are selling that rifle for.

Dad had one of those. The housing that the bolt slides in got worn out, and it would misfire frequently. Gunsmith replaced the bolt, machined the slides smoother, and replaced a few other things, but it never worked right after that. Would jam up all the time. Dad's wasn't fired that much. Don't know why it wore out, but I would want to look it over for wear.

I got frustrated and bought a new Marlin as a kid. Still have it. It is a bolt-action with the 17- round magazine tube. I have not fired it for about 10 years, but it still looks just like new. One of these days if I ever find ammunition, I will take it out and do some plinking.

$150 seems like a reasonable price for a Model 60 in good condition with extras. Bass Pro sells them new for $169.99 without the scope, etc. Their ad states 14 rounds in the tube + 1 in the chamber.

I have a Marlin Model 882 bolt action .22 magnum with a removable clip. It is very accurate for a lower end rim fire. Shoots really well with Hornady Varmint Express ammo.

My friend thought $150 was too much so for now I will keep it. Thanks for the replies
