    Hi:

We are considering getting a 2007-10 AWD Sport Trac. Is this system relatively trouble free? Does the 2nd gen AWD differ from the AWD on the 2005's and earlier. I understand that repairs on the 2nd gen AWD can be very expressive. Are AWD parts still available? Do shops know how to diagnose and repair?

    Thanks for any info!!!

Can't speak for the entire group, but my '10 AWD has 56k with no problems at all.

Thanks for your kind and positive reply. That is good to know. I heard that one had to be careful that all of the tires were rotated frequently and should have the same amount of wear (same circumference) or the drive train would act up. If one tire needed replacement, it should be shaved to match the original three (or four). Thanks again

its NOT a true AWD.... its 2wd and when the rear slips it bangs it into 4wd automatically and cuts the throttle....

Thanks for the info Scott. We will test it in the first heavy snow before the salt trucks come out. I also need to read through the manual. My wife wants me to do a 100 word book report after I finish reading it. Kidding about the book report. Thanks!!
