Hey All,

Recently my power mirror switch has quit working. So I referred to the manual that came with my truck to see if I could find which fuse it was. This is when I found out the manual in my glove box belongs to a 1998 Explorer Sport. So now I have a couple questions.....

#1. What fuse number in which panel controls the power mirrors, and what amperage is it?

#2. Have any of you ever had the switch just die, or is it just dirty contacts on the back of the switch?

#3. How do you remove the switch?

Thanks for your assistance.

1. Carefully pry the switch out of the armrest. It comes out the top.

2. Remove the electrical connector from the switch.

3. Turn the switch over so the electrodes are up and CAREFULLY remove the bottom (now top) of the switch by releasing the little catches on the sides.

4. Clean the contacts inside with whatever works for you (I use alcohol on a cotton swab).

5. Bend the contacts a little so they have a little more tension for better contact when assembled.

6. Make sure everything is back in place and replace the bottom.

7. Re-install the switch.

8. Do it all again a year later.
