power lock prob. diagnosis

Probably about every fourth operation of my door locks, by either the key fob or the driver's door lock button, my driver's side passenger door lock makes a strange, short, low-pitched electronic buzz sound and doesn't unlock (when all three other doors have unlocked). It only seems to happen when unlocking and is remedied by just pressing the button one more (in the case of the key fob, a third) time.



Any idea what is wrong and whether it can be repaired or must be replaced?

The door lock actuator is starting to go out on you, actually very common on Ford vehicles.

Mine has buzzed every now and then since it was new. It has never failed though.
