Mustang question

I am looking at an '07 V-6 Mustang with 5-speed and 58k miles. This is the first of this gen Mustang that I have driven with a 5-speed. It has a tranny wine in 5th gear. Can anyone tell me if this is normal? If not, do I need to steer clear or is it a simple fix?

It actually has a tranny wine in all 5 gears.

Probably never has had the transmission serviced. Holds 5.5 pints - close to 3 quarts. Would be relatively easy DIY job.

Agree, try changing the fluid first. It takes regular Mercon ATF or use Vic's stuff. My son has a 2000 Mustang V6 5-speed, probably the same tranny, I have used Mobil 1 ATF in it and it shifted better afterward although I never heard a whine except in first.
