new to the site. Appreciate the add. My parents just gave my son a 2001 sport Trac 2wd with a V6 and 15” wheels. He wants to buy 265/70R17 tires on 17” wheels with a small lift. The front end measures 2” lower than the read from center wheel fender to ground. I’ve read that tightening the torsion bars will level the vehicle but do you think that would look good or should he invest in a suspension and shackle kit to lift the truck 2” to 3” with these tires and wheels?any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. He’s still in college and doesn’t have a whole lot of money to put in it right now.

Go for the TT and see how it reacts since the suspension is older now, Some trucks need longer bolts for the front ( not expensive I sell them) or get the shackles. But no need for all the big lift stuff..

Awesome. I just ordered a package 3” torsion keys and 2” shackles for the rear. Should I order a camber kit also or wait to see what the alignment specialist says. I might be able to get them cheaper than what he would charge me.

Got it done. Didn’t use the lift kit after all. Next question. Engine runs good but when I come to a stop sign or red light it acts like it wants to die. Should I replace the plugs wires and rotor or might it be something else.

Torqued the torsion bars just enough to level the truck. Then added some Iron Man P265/70R17’s on some new Pacer 17” wheels.

These are the before photos. We also painted all the grey plastic parts on the truck Black. My son is so excited. He’s 3hours away and hasn’t had a chance to see it in person.
