I would like to put LED taillights on my 05 ST. Has anyone done this and can recomend a good site to order a pair from? I assume they are an easy install...just plug into the exsisitng wires, maybe change the harness.

I'm also interesteed in LED signal mirrors, I know this home install might not be so easy.

I sell the mirrors, and as for the tails, the only LED bulb I'd truly recommend won't fit the first gens without a lot of creativity. Additionally, you'll have to add resistors to the wires.

Dingo,

You don't need to add resistors if you install an electronic flasher module. I did that when I installed LED taillight bulbs a few years back. The module is about $12 at any auto parts store.

Or you could just get a blinker meant for LEDs.. thats what I did. It was about 10 dollars from the local auto parts shop and its plug and play to replace the existing blinker under the dash...

and i recommend getting red LED bulbs off ebay with the most amount of LEDs in it you can... I think mine have about 20-30 in them and they work great!!!!!

sounds like you guys are replacing the bulbs and not the whole taillight unit. I looked at doing that about 2 years ago but the led clusters wernt big enough. I need a cluster of 20-30?

um... in that case

go to advance auto and look at their 2008 catalog.

theres some cool light in there, we just got the book a little while ago, was looking through it. just find the style u like tell the guy and he will order it for u if they have it for the STs.

would take up to 7-10 to get some of the items tho.

if they tell u they dont have a book, they are full of BS or if they cant order it....

i work there lol

mike,

the LED clusters have gotten much better than in the past. You can get a pair of LED bulbs with 20-40 LEDs pointing in the front, off the sides, and toward the rear, for around $20. This helps make full use of the lens you put the bulb in.

These are the ones I plan to get eventually.

well... i didnt see anything like that in the book.. those are sweet!

um... no autozone advance osmileys dont have those in stock for sure... if they do... hell ima be upset! lol

ones i was talking bout was kinda like the recon 3rd brake light. where the LEDs are inside and u plug the light itself to the pigtails.

Jeff, the one's you pictured and offered a link for are backup bulbs and are selling for 50 dollars a pop on eBay.

Pretty pricey for bulbs and will they even work for brake lights?

I just looked at the V-LED site. they have LED replacement for all the lights you might need. For the turn signal they have fuse type thing you splice between the wires so the LED don't hyper flash. The tail light bulbs are like $50 each and the fuse thinkg is 2 for $10

sorry bro, went into work today, someone bought the lights i was talking about!

if u want i can get a pic next week when the truck comes in

Like I said, 45 LEDs for the win!
