Instrument panel lights seem dim - comments about PIAA Xtreme White bulbs?

It doesn't look like a bulb is burned out, I have no dead spots, but the whole instrument panel seems dim (dimmer wheel near the headlight switch is turned all the way up). I noticed it right after I bought the ST used last April (its a 2005 with premium trim).



I read the threads and projects about instrumet panel bulb replacement, but still have questions.:unsure:

Dingo, do you still use and like you PIAAs? Any long term problems? Anybody else use them or LEDs?

Other recommendations for increasing the panel light brightness?

does the dimmer switch work at all? Possibly a partilly bad dimmer switch ie. it works but restricts voltage incorrectly.



Mine has been screwey since day one when I bought the trac new.

I sold that truck 2 years ago, but they worked great the whole time.

Didn't think of a bad dimmer, it seems to work Ok though, other lights (radio, A/C controls, bezel lights, etc) look like they brighten and dim just fine.



thanks for the input guys, I was afraid of putting too strong of a light in the panel and burning something.

The PIAAs aren't brighter. They're whiter.
