How to remove Exhaust manifold bolts?

How do I remove my exhaust manifold bolts ? Do I have to jack the engine up or is there a trick or what?

No need to lift the engine. I always do them from underneath, you have to get a little creative but they really aren't that bad

Why are you taking off the bolts?

I have to remove the driver side because the upper and lower bolts closest to the cab are snapped off in the head :angry:

You are going to have to remove the intermediate steering shaft for the drivers side, make sure the steering wheel does not turn once the shaft is removed or else you will end up needing a clock spring. If memory serves me correctly you will need to remove the manifold through the wheel well

I suggest using a tool. Some kinda wrench, maybe a socket set will work best.
