i have a bed extender from a 2005 first generation model. normal wear, no rust, still has locking pins works great. located in south Louisiana
 
I've been looking for one. I've only seen pictures. Are they heavy? Is it something I can store until I need it and then put it in place? I keep 3 large tubs in the back of my 2004 that are always there so I couldn't just flip it forward to close the tailgate.
 
They're light. Made of aluminum, about 15-20 lbs.
