fuel gauge problem

over the last few weeks, my fuel gauge is acting weird....sometimes it reads empty when I know there is fuel and today after I filled up it is pegged all the way right...way past full and laying flat to the right. Any suggestions?

I have the same problem with mine. I am forced to go by the trip mileage to know when to fill up. 9/10 it is not accurate. I am working up the courage to drop the tank and fix the problem. Check this out:
