psy, does the switch use a relay also. If not, might be a current load issue.

psy, that sounds more like cold contractions of metal siezing. Not the switch. You said that the valve has a tight seal no exhaust leaks when closed. Bet thats it.

Carey, that's not the switch. The bolts holding it on are too tight.

The bolts holding it on have an impact on how it opens? I'm pretty sure it's the switch since it closes when I restart it having left it open.



Why would it being tight have any impact on how the valve opens and closes?

Because of the shaft going through the outer ring. Trust me. I'm not guessing.
