My 02 sport trac was idleing and then died and wouldn't start and had a check engine lite on. I left it and an hour later came back and it started up. My pal checked code and was relay for fuel pump and I replaced it. A week later it did it again and no code I left it for about 1 hour and it started up again. We checked everything and can't find a problem. My pal says, may be fuel pump going bad and he checked fuel press. and perfect. It is crazy, drive it and ok and stop and come back out and won't start, just turns over good. It douse idle good and every so often kind of misses for a few seconds and then ok. Still looking and waiting. Any ideas will be greatly appreciated. GENO L.

Check the wiring and the module for the fuel pump emergency trip. Right side kick panel area.

Look on the pasenger side floor board. behind the mat or panel. There is a module with an emergency fuel trip, in case of an accident. There is a reset button on top. Some have had overheated bad wiring. Some have had to replace the module. If you have an owners manual, look in it for exact location.
