This morning my wife went outside to take our son to school.

and when she goes to start the ST she said the LOW FUEL warning came on and the gauge was on empty. When we parked it the day before the tank was 1/2 full. Imediately i think someone stole our gas. When i got home i brought a 5 gallon tank of gas to put in the truck so i can drive to the gas station. I put the ignition to on and it gave me the LOW FUEL warning and 0.4 on my tripmeter. As i was puting the 5 gals of fuel the gauge suddenly jumps to a little bit under 3/4 of a tank. I searched the site and most people say that these electrical gremlins are a sign of a bad ground or battery. Truck runs fine now. has this happend to anybody else?

thank you

Could be a grounding issue, I had a 97 Escort that the speedo, CC and horn was inop and it turned out to be the cluster of gnd wires that attatch to the neg terminal of the battery.

If it is a stuck float in the tank, a can of Seafoam in the tank might help free it up.

It could be any of the above. Also depending how old your battery is. Our tracs dont like weak batteries. All kinds of weird gremlins occur when the battery gets just alittle weak. I had the same problems. New battery fixed it. Get it checked anyway..:D
