Yes, sadly we've become a society where everyone's a "victim" of some kind or another, or is "offended" if you look at them cross-eyed, let alone say anything to them. Heck, by today's ridiculous PC standards, classic Looney Tunes and Disney cartoons are very un-PC. But, if you put them in the context of their era, and also consider that fact that they didn't actually intend to hurt or offend anyone, there's nothing wrong with them. The whole "how things are perceived" way of looking at things has gotten way out of control. Folks just need to take a deep breath, and look at the actual intent of a statement or whatever, not how it's perceived.
And sadly, this is exactly why Disney will never release "Song of the South" from the vault to theaters or DVD. By today's standards, it's considered a racist movie. Is it really? I don't believe so.
Now, as far as "Blazing Saddles" goes, a timeless classic!
How 'bout some more beans, Mr. Taggart?
