Hello out there,
Once again I have a slight issue that I would like to run by you all.
It has to do with the two large bolts in the upper oil pan of my 2010 Sport Trac xlt 4.0 2wd.
I recently had the upper oil pan seal replaced and I noticed that oil is seeping out from around the bolts. There is not much, but enough for me to try and fix it.
I guess I am asking if I should replace the bolts, replace the washers, replace both the bolts and washers, or tighten them a bit?
If I have to replace the bolts and/or washers, can I simple remove one and replace it and the do the other?
I just don't want to cause anything to leak or leak more....I have just about had it with oil leaks...THEY ARE A PAIN, AND VERY EXPENSIVE TO FIX.
I have attached a few photos so you all can see exactly what I am dealing with.
If I have to replace the bolts and washers, can anyone give me part numbers so I can search for them.
Again, I thank you for any assistance you can offer.
Regards,
Murph

Any idea where I can find the torque specs on the Engine Block Cradle (upper oil pan) bolts that are the photo above? I do not want to under or over tighten them.

I found this info, but am not sure exactly what bolt spec I need to use.
Engine block cradle (upper oil pan): (E/MWM)
...Inside bolts: Step 1: 11 lb-ft, Step 2: 24 lb-ft
...Perimeter bolts/nuts: 80 lb-in
...Threaded inserts: 27 lb-in
...Torx bolts: 71 lb-in
...Bell housing (lower rear) bolts: 32 lb-ft

Any ideas?
Thanks,
Murph

Hi Sarah,
Thanks for your help.
You are very close, but no cigar! LOL
It's the two bolts on the left edge of your diagram.
I included a photo...these two bolts are weeping oil.
I just don't want to over or under tighten them to see if the weeping goes away or whether I need to replace the bolts...for some insane reason.
Again, Thanks!
Murph
