Dogs LOVE trucks! Not one of those namby-pamby, hamster advertised, worthless styling concept type of vehicles. Put Rover in a big, lifted pick-up and drive through the mud to get to the best places for a dog to run kind of vehicle. They get to sit up front, right next to you, watching the world go by, slobbering out the window, on the interior and you. Tell me I'm wrong!! :bwahaha:

I agree with Bob C. they picked all the girley cars..... . Who wants any of them...... Out Trac works better then the wifes Mariner (Escape). Seats down for the dog and all the crap in the bed. And you dont have to worry about the dog getting into stuff he shouldn't.

The wife has one of the cars on the list, a Hyundai Santa Fe and I promise you, our Golden Retriever would rather ride in the back of the Trac with the seats down and the rear slider down! He is devastated whenever I go somewhere on the weekend and don't take him with me. The only problem is that he needs a little help getting in as he is getting a little long in the tooth - like the rest of us! :supercool:

My pit loves any chance to ride in the back of the ST and also hates my weekend trips that don't include her. The back seats folded down give here lots of room to move around, a 360 degree view, and she just loves putting her head out the back window. I would never put a dog in the bed of a truck, so the ST's folding rear seats make it THE best in my opinion.

This list cracked me up. No Trucks? No large SUVs with removable 3rd row? No Sport Trac?

I think what they really meant to title this list was "Best Cars for Chihuahua's Who Love Fuel Efficiency."

That list was pretty much a waste of time. So I take it that an Escape Hybrid is better than the Escape XLT? Interesting...:smack:

Those vehicles work better than a Ford Explorer does? We seriously need to buy a BMW wagon for a dog to ride it? Does the dog really care that it is a BMW and not some old beat up Ford van with a leaky exhaust?

I don't know about you guys, but my dog just wants to go somewhere. She doesn't care what she is going to ride in. Motorhome, Scooter, Trac, Explorer, Taurus, Escort, or just on a leash. If I ask her if she wants to go "bye-byes", she is at the door ready to roll.

Agreed :driving::driving::driving:

All I have to do is ask our Sydney if she is ready to GO, she grabs her ball and is at the door.

But, the automobile manufacturers are recognizing a growing market so most of those vehicles mentioned come with dog friendly packages, like ramps & barriers, so that one does not have to buy stuff at the pet store.

agree. i didn't quite understand how the escape hybrid was better then the standard model.

some of the vehicles made sense, but for sure the toy venza, mazda & bww3 would not work for our pups. the soul & cube would work as well as the scion xb.

my 4run works well and imo there are some on the list that are useless for doggie transport

I think the person that made this list owns toy dogs. These are all great for dogs under 15lbs. But then again so is a bicycle with a basket.

Hugh,

I own a "toy dog".

Just about any vehicle works great with a toy dog. All you need is a lap and the dog is happy.
