The wire needs to be cut into two pieces about 10 inches long per side. Fold the wire in half and loop it through the latch mechanism as shown.

Stick the wire hooks on the side of each latch.
Pull each sides wire through the hook then twist the wire nut on really tight.
When you need to open the cover with the tailgate down, no keys required, just pull each side latch and your done!
