air bag light

Hi everyone, the air bag light on my '03 ST has been acting unusual for about two weeks now. It blinks 4 and then 2 a few times then stays on but if my wife is riding shotgun it doesn't happen. I fastened the right seat belt and drove to work. It didn't come on at all at first. Then it did it again in the morning but not on my ride home.

Any suggestions? Seems like a short but where? I'm stumped. Thank you.

The flashing 4 then 2 means you have a airbag fault code 42 -

from a table of codes -

"42 Driver Side Crash Sensor Mounting Fault "
