See if you can save the file instead of launch it. Try right clicking and Save As. When saving it, try changing the pps to ppt. If you can get it in ppt format, you can then extract the photos by clicking File, Save As, change the Save As type to JPEG.

The only sure way is to install Microsoft Office PowerPoint. You then save the file to your hard drive and open it with PowerPoint. right click on the image and "save it as a picture" It will save them as picture 1, picture 2, etc. You can rename if you like. If you like send me the the PPS and I will extract the pictures and zip them and send back to you. Takes only a couple of minutes unless there are lots of pictures.

ok, I do have MS PP, saved the pps attachement (email) to the HD, opened the pps file with PP, right clicked on an image, but it only gives me options of next, back, pointer, etc.,. What I am wanting to do is copy a few of the pictures, maybe 1, maybe 10, and use them later on in an email or when the occassion arises. No commercial intent whatsoever. I have received several emails with pps files, and would like to be able to use as wallpaper at times if I happen to like the picture as well. any other suggestions? thanks so far.

Jim, the issue is, you are still viewing it in the Presenter mode.

Do NOT open the file directly from the file as by default that specific file is to open in Presenter mode.

Close it, then open Power Point, then go to file, then browse to the file and open it that way.

Doing it the way I just described, opens it in a manner that you will be able to right click and save the pics.

Later...

I guess I should have explained that better too. You need MS PowerPoint NOT PowerPoint viewer. You need the program that actually builds the presentation not the one to look at it.
