open tailgate, there are 3 plugs that cover 3 screws, remove plugs, remove screws... locate hole that burnt out bulb is in, remove bulb... then to it all again in reverse.

Open your tailgate, there will be 3 gromets you have to remove on the edge where the tailgate meets the side of the bed. I believe it's a 7mm socket that you'll need. Remove the 3 screws, and pull the light straight towards the rear of the truck, not out to the side, but straight back. It may take a little force. Untwist the bulb you need out of it's housing, pull the bulb out of the socket, it's a 3157, and replace. Go in reverse to put it all back together.

Lower the tailgate. There are like 2 or 3 blots you need to remove (inner side of the fender from the bed area) and the lens will pivot outward to get to the light recepticles. Remove those to get to the bulbs. Hope that helps.

Before you do that, tilt you column and see if the light comes back on and works properly.

If so, you have the infamous wire harness issue in the column. If not, then go for changing the bulb...
