You can test your alternator by starting the truck and then disconnect the negative side of the battery. If the truck stays running alternator should be good, if it dies than you got an alternator issue.

I agree with Todd you will need to run a video wire from the camera to your Sony head unit. Bluetooth is just for your phone. They do make wireless cameras that connect to a separate screen but I’m not aware of any aftermarket radio head units that use a wireless backup cam.

It looks like RCI still makes a skid plate that fits first gen ST. It’s pretty beefy and 3/16” makes it heavy. I have it on a 2004 Sport Trac, the tow hooks in the pic are stock in the stock location. I haven’t hit anything with it but I wouldn’t be afraid to.
