    heat not so hot 2007

Probably the temperature blend door actuator, a known issue on Explorer's in general. See this video: https://www.youtube.com/watch?time_continue=37&v=BERmZRDfqPw

    FORScan

I have used it as well. I, too, was surprised to find a couple of trouble codes when I ran the scan. I did a quick reset and all is good. I have used the Forscan to turn on the DRL feature on my wife's 2013 Edge, but other than than no mods. On my son's 2004 Explorer he had noticed that the...

    2002 ST low beams nw

What bulbs are you using, and were they replaced at the same time? I am thinking it is maybe your bulbs. What makes me think wiring is good is the fact that your fog lamps are working properly. I replaced my bulbs with Silverstars, and although they did not blow out at exactly the same time, it...

    Fog lights with high beam

Rich, Funny how you are not attacking me personally, then spent your entire response attacking me. Yes, I have extensive legal experience. 30 years worth. Trust me. What is your background? And why can't you take the time to show us the so-called federal guidelines on this issue. Because...

    Fog lights with high beam

Rich. I am uncertain why you keep attacking me personally on this forum. I am not interpreting TN law. I am reading it. It is clear. So is Connecticut's. Four beams of light means four beams of light. This is not common core math. I did not quote it but in Florida it is clearly illegal to...

    Fog lights with high beam

Rich, You are probably correct about the original question on this thread. But I am not "interpreting" Tn law. I am reading it. All of it. It is what I do for a living. It is not illegal in TN. As to other lighting law, especially in rainy weather, I, too, wish that would be enforced...

    Fog lights with high beam

Rich, This is the law in TN, from our code, TCA 55-9-402 (2) Auxiliary road lighting lamps may be used, but not more than two (2) of the lamps shall be lighted at any one (1) time in addition to the two (2) required headlights. There is nothing in TN law that forbids use of fogs with...

    Fog lights with high beam

Rich, In TN it is legal, per TCA 55-9-402. The TN code clearly allows for 4 forward facing light beams. Trust me. :) The law is the area I work in daily.. Now there are some cities that have ordinances that you can't use fogs at all unless inclement weather, such as Nashville, but honestly...

    Fog lights with high beam

To RichardL and others, I believe all states will allow there to be 4 forward projecting lights to be on at the same time. Since our Sport Tracs have a dual filament bulb, when we go to high beams there is still only 2 beams of light going forward. Therefor, fogs with high beams would be legal...

    High Idle Resolved!

Just a follow-up. It has been a good 6 weeks since I posted and I can happily say that the high idle issue is truly resolved! Who would have ever thought that a little bit of crud in the cooling system could stop up the coolant overflow line and cause this issue, but it makes total sense that...

    Leaking rear window

I used the window foam "trick" on my '05 about 3 years ago. Still no leaks!

    High Idle Resolved!

Thanks Todd! The truck has not run this smooth in a while. Idle is dead on 750, with only a slight fluctuation as the a/c kicks on and off. I am still very pleased with the 'Trac. Mine only has around 123k miles on it, so it is just getting good and broken in.

    High Idle Resolved!

Well, after posting on here a few times about a high idle issue on my '05 Trac it appears I have finally resolved it! This past weekend I was under the hood doing usual oil level checks, etcc, and I noticed that the coolant overflow bottle fluid level was higher than normal. Odd I thought. Then...

Sunroof - will not fully close

Ben, we just had the same thing happen on our '04 Explorer. Fortunately I was able to position the deflector close enough to original position and get the sunroof closed properly. Now we only use the sunroof in the venting position, and so far no issues doing that. I can't find a way to just...

Well...crap (O/D light blinking, tranny busted)

For $2k, I would think long and hard about fixing it. You already know the history and the repairs done on it. Assuming the truck is only worth $3k, which is low in my opinion based on the TN market for these, if you add $2k to it what are you going to buy for $5k? Someone else's unfixed problem...

    2004 sport trac for parts

Zoey09, I am looking for the driver's seat trim valance, with power seat option. The plastic tabs on mine, like many others, have broken and the valance panel is just barely hanging on with 1 "good" plastic tab.

Thanks for the interior info. It does not help me, buy maybe someone else could use an interior part. Mine 'Trac has tan, code RW.

    Farewell

James, Sorry you have had a few challenges with the 'Trac. Obviously none of us can tell you what to do, but my suggestion would be if you really want to buy something newer buy something 3 or so years old for about half price. My wife and I added a 2013 Ford Edge SEL AWD to our household...

    Headlamp Bulb Suggestion

I am running SIlver Star in both headlamps and fog lghts. Very pleased. The key is to get your headlamps aimed properly. If too low they are useless, but the same problem exists if aimed too high. I set mine by shining on my garage door while parked outisde, about 12 feet from the door and...
