    Front end alignment

I ran across that thread just a few minutes ago. I only want to do the alignment once, so I will wait to get the parts for the passenger side. I'm not driving it now so I am in no big hurry. I will look this evening to see if I have one piece or two piece passenger side arm. Thanks for...

    Front end alignment

My Trac got the dreaded creaking sound coming from the front. I replaced the upper control arm/ball joint, the lower ball joint and stabilizer bar end link all on the drivers side only. This fixed the creaking sound. I plan to replace the same items for the passenger side since the Trac has...

    Towing a another vehicle

I actually never took it out of OD. It only shifted out three times during the whole trip. All three times were on I-40 north of Jackson. There are several rolling hills there and I was getting tired of playing leap frog with the 18 wheelers. Here is a picture of my parents new rig.

    Towing a another vehicle

I just got back with the Jeep. I pulled it 335 miles back home and stopped about every 100 miles. The Trac had no problems and was quite surprised at how well the it did. Luckily the Jeep was still wired from when I parents use to pull it so all I had to do was plug it into the Trac's wiring...

    Towing a another vehicle

"My drives through TN have always included hills that I would not feel comfortable going down with a vehicle in tow behind a ST." I appreciate your concerns, but I live in the middle part of TN on the Cumberland Plateau. I don't have to cross Monteagle. The only scary parts will be crossing...

    Towing a another vehicle

My parents are going to give me their Cherokee if I go get it. I am wondering if anyone has towed another vehicle behind their Trac using a tow dolly? I will have to tow it about 300 miles thru KY to TN. There aren't any major mountains between here and there. Thanks

    Wheel bearing or alignment

I checked the drive side last night and it had more loose motion than the passenger side. It actually didn't take much effort to move the wheel. I did check the ball joints while and none of them were lose. So I decided to just replace the bearings rather than just repacking the old ones...

    Wheel bearing or alignment

If I can repack them, does that mean they are tapered roller bearings and I can buy new ones? It is suppose to be 50 here on Sunday and would be a perfect do to tackle this project. Thanks for the replies. Brad

    Wheel bearing or alignment

My wife's 4x2 Trac is pulling to one side. It has 145000 miles on it and have never had to replace a balljoint or anything on the front end. I jacked the front end up and noticed that there is some play (very slight) when I rock the wheel back and forth (12:00 and 6:00 position). There are no...

    Painting rear bumper cover

Yes, Tennessee does require insurance but you don't have to show proof to get plates. I did get a police report and she was given a ticket and the cop let her drive off. Go figure. Thanks for the help.

    Painting rear bumper cover

A car rolled into my rear bumper, just scuffing the plastic cover. It was an elderly lady that did not have insurance. I want to try an help her out. Has anyone tried to paint their trim and if so what did you use. I saw in the projects were someone painted theirs black with bumper paint. I...

    NEED PARTS

How about a site sponsor http://www.fastpartsnetwork.com. You also need to make sure the headlight/grille support is not broken. On the first gen ST, it was made from SMC (fiber re-enforced plastic).

Explorer getting new Traction Control System

DETROIT (AP) -- Ford Motor Co. says its 2011 Ford Explorer will have a control system that lets drivers select how much traction they want based on road conditions. Using a dial in the center of the console, drivers can select one of four modes: Normal roads, muddy or rutted roads, snowy...

new member just starting to upgrade my 03 here, what are your favorite parts and upgrades?

What benefit will you see/gain by changing the end links? The kit appears to be just bushings and mounting hardware. Is it the fact that you are simply replacing old bushings with new? I replaced the shocks last year with Sens-a-Tracs and the ride was noticably firmer.
