    Gas Mileage

Close to 20. Depends on a number of factors.

    Outside Temp Reading

My '03 was generally within 2-3 degrees. My '04 doesn't have an overhead temp/compass display so I can't really compare well.

    New Explorer=Flex with bumps??

To add to this: New Explorer - min 7.6" ground clearance. 2010 ST - 8.5" min. 2010 Explorer - 8.3". For those of us who use our Explorers off road on a regular basis, the loss of almost a full inch seems silly. Yet it is being touted as being the "most capable yet." UGH.

    Low Idle at Start

Rain and snow made this work impossible tomorrow. Will try to get under the hood tomorrow...

    New Explorer=Flex with bumps??

Ugly! I guess I have to keep my Trac going forever now...I could never see myself driving that thing. Such a fall from the first Explorer...

    Low Idle at Start

Sweet, I knew someone here would have the answer. I'll bust out my cleaning/testing stuff tomorrow then!

    Low Idle at Start

So I have noticed recently that when I start my truck, it fires up and then goes into a very low idle some times. Low enough I'm worried about it stalling. If I give it some gas, it usually clears right up. Now that it has been getting colder here, I'm noticing it more. I'm wondering if the fuel...

    Arm Rest Upgrade

I guess I'll go ahead and do that!

    Arm Rest Upgrade

Thought about snapping some shots, but I figured this would suffice. I could take a before-and-after picture of the underside of the console. Super easy to do.

    Arm Rest Upgrade

So, I needed to fix/repair/replace the center console underside, due to the plastic/polymer cracking all the way across on my '04. I ordered a metal replacement from am-autoparts on eBay. It is a based designed to fit earlier model Explorers, up to 2001, but I found it works flawlessly with the...

My cluster unit is having a field day

Sounds like maybe the battery isn't connected up nice and tight. Check the wires, especially the ground.

    Transmission...boom

Strange...I've had 2 Chevy transmissions blow up on me, but never an Explorer. The first one ('94 4x4) started to have problems shifting from first to second when it was cold at about 350k, but still wasn't dead. Hope it works out.

    Center consol arm rest

Well, went ahead and ordered it. Should be here next week - will give an update.

    Center consol arm rest

Well, I guess I'll go ahead and get the replacement bottom and try and epoxy the one screw housing on the top part. Hopefully that'll work until I can get a replacement top.

    One tough truck!!!!

Rolled my truck onto the side in March. Only damage was when the front left quarter panel hit a rock in just the right spot and jammed the driver's door closed. Hooked up a cable and got it back down on all four tires, and drove the remaining 40 miles back to town. Next morning, the tires were...

    Center consol arm rest

Yeah, I saw that. It looked good (since its metal), but it says only 2002. Would it work in my '04? And I'd still need a top.

    Center consol arm rest

Well, I was leaning on my center arm rest the other day, reaching for something in the back seat before I started driving and POW! The plastic support at the hinge, on the underside of the arm rest, broke (now why didn't they use metal, or at least a metal reinforcing bar?). I'm facing a 16 hour...
