Bolts on Upper Oil Pan Seeping

Hi Sarah, Thanks for your help. You are very close, but no cigar! LOL It's the two bolts on the left edge of your diagram. I included a photo...these two bolts are weeping oil. I just don't want to over or under tighten them to see if the weeping goes away or whether I need to replace the...

Bolts on Upper Oil Pan Seeping

Any idea where I can find the torque specs on the Engine Block Cradle (upper oil pan) bolts that are the photo above? I do not want to under or over tighten them. I found this info, but am not sure exactly what bolt spec I need to use. Engine block cradle (upper oil pan): (E/MWM) ...Inside...

    ST pics

I must have blown the fuse to the back up lights, I tested the wire using a multimeter on one of the wires, I think it was blue, but then when I tapped into it, I lost all the back up lights. Do you know off hand where that fuse is....just in case you blew yours. I'll look it up. Otherwise I am...

Yes, I saw the photos...and you made a valid point about ever wanting to remove the light bar. Than3961ks, Murph

Thanks, Swamp Trac, I was thinking to trim back the wires that go into the trailer plug and tap into the wires behind the trailer plug receiver and splice into those wires, so if I have to attach a trailer, I don't have to juggle the connectors. Does this make sense? Murph

Hi, I just purchased this light bar. It appears to be a simple installation except the reverse wire, Where can I connect that wire...which is outside the usual trailer connector. Thanks, Murph

Bolts on Upper Oil Pan Seeping

Hello out there, Once again I have a slight issue that I would like to run by you all. It has to do with the two large bolts in the upper oil pan of my 2010 Sport Trac xlt 4.0 2wd. I recently had the upper oil pan seal replaced and I noticed that oil is seeping out from around the bolts. There...

    Drive Train Vibration

...also, is there a video or photos somewhere that shows and explains, in detail how to check and realign the ST 2wd drive shaft? I am curious.

    Drive Train Vibration

Hi Dave, Thanks for your reply. I don't think I have ever heard of a drive line shop....is that basically someone who can rip apart the transmission and motor, or a specialty shop? Is there any chance that the transmission is not correctly aligned? What else would cause the vibration? Would...

    Drive Train Vibration

Hello out there in Sport Trac Forum World, I'm once again asking our seasoned Sport Trac owners another question about a vibration in my drive train. About six months ago I started feeling a clunking sound when I did not come to a complete stop when changing from drive to reverse. It didn't take...

    Rear Main Engine Seal

Hi folks, Well, you all really helped with my leaking oil issue. And yes, many said there could be more than one leak. And yes, there were three of them....one on the back of the valve covers...so new gaskets there. Then there was the Rear Main Seal.....so new seal. And finally we found that the...

    Rear Main Engine Seal

Thank you....I will inform the mechanic that if he is not absolutely certain it is the RMS, that he should clean the undercarriage and put the dye in the oil. Otherwise, he is responsible for additional oil leak issues. Murph

    Rear Main Engine Seal

Thank you for your time and responses. I have already changed the PCV valve. The mechanic who tears down and rebuilds motors every day, got under the vehicle and confirmed the RMS was leaking. Can I have confidence in his evaluation, or should I ask him to degrease the area and add the dye? If...

    Rear Main Engine Seal

Yes, I already did that, but it was in the darn Pandemic and I simply thought I could get it done a bit later. At that point it wasn't leaking that much...maybe a drop every two days or so. But now it's like three drops and I don't like the spot in my driveway. Again...about how much to get the...

    Rear Main Engine Seal

Hi Dave, I have a 2010 ST xlt 4.0 2WD. Should I still have him replace the valve cover gaskets? And, pardon the ignorance, but what is the rear of the intake?? Is that a replaceable gasket also? One other thing...what is the approximate cost of replacing the RMS? And how much to replace both...

    Rear Main Engine Seal

Hello, Thanks for viewing my post. The rear main engine seal on my 2010 ST xlt 4.0 has been leaking now for more than a few months. I am planning on getting it replaced shortly by a local mechanic...not the dealer. I am making this post to check whether there is something else that should be...

PVC Valve - Proper Remove and Replace

...and you think with my ST having 173k miles, I should get both tensioners replaced? What are the symptoms if the ones I have are worn out? Thank You
