    Saying Goodbye

Well it's been a fun ride, but I'll be moving on to a new vehicle. The Trac was a great vehicle, and one that I probably spent too much on  but I'll pass that on and trade my Trac in for a 2013 Ford Explorer Sport come December. Thanks for everyones help and a great website ... I'll see...

Really ... new wheel bearings at a 109k?

thanks for the replies, although it appears that the gen2 4x4 Trac's bearings are sealed and need to be replaced as an entire unit, hence the higher price. Mechanic at the dealership said he had difficulty getting them out, but it's all done now, and makes for a much smoother drive.

Really ... new wheel bearings at a 109k?

thanks for the feedback, although it's only 109,000 kilometres (about 65,000 miles) so just wondering if this is a common issue early on.

Really ... new wheel bearings at a 109k?

Had a gear/vibration issue coming from the front end, dealer tells me the front wheel bearings have to be replaced ... $960:cry: with 109,000 kms on it, that kinda disappoints me. Have any of you had to replace yours this early? I hope this is not a sign of things to come.

Towing a 23' Trailer to Yellowstone!

As for the hitch height, yes, it will be adjusted, along with using a weight distribution hitch ... this was just a preliminary test of how everything hooked up, and how the truck felt with the trailer on. As for extension mirrors, I got these:

Towing a 23' Trailer to Yellowstone!

Now I'm really going to see what my Sport Trac is capable of! :driving: Going to rent a 23' travel trailer and drive from Toronto to Yellowstone and back. Checked the trailer out the other weekend (as pictured here) and other then having to adjust the hitch height a little bit, it seemed to go...

My Trac is Finished! (for now)

Well, it's taken 2 years, but I think I've got the look I was aiming for, all that's left is to get it dyno tuned at the end of the month. What do you all think?:driving: [Broken External Image]: [Broken External Image]: [Broken External Image]: [Broken External Image]...

Added new Chrome Mesh Grill ... new pics

Spring has sprung early here, so I've had a chance to work on some more projects on the Trac ... the latest is adding a new chrome mesh grill overlay from T-Rex. Once I get the summer wheels back on, I'll take a full round of pics and post to show off the roof rack delete and brake calliper...

Upgraded Rotors, Pads & Calliper Covers

Hey folks, we had a nice break in the weather here, and I decided to upgrade the brakes on the old Trac. Added slotted/drilled premium rotors and Posi Quiet ceramic pads from R1 concepts. Also wanted to clean up the look a bit, and added MGP calliper covers that were painted to match the truck...

    Retrofit Projection H.I.D. Lights Installed

Lot's on the go this week, :driving: went from the new wheels and tires to getting Bi-Xenon projection headlights installed! I originally bought and installed an aftermarket kit which was nice and bright, but the beam pattern was so-so. I did some investigating, and found a local shop that...

Hi folks, I'm thinking of pulling the trigger for some new wheels in the spring. I've narrowed it down to a set of chrome Ion Alloy 625's (20 x 8.5) that will run 265/50/20 BF Goodrich g-Force T/A's. Here's a mock up ... what do you think? [Broken External Image]:

Looking for Cat back for Gen2V8

Nothing beats a true dual exhaust system for sound, power and looks. Yes, it was pricey, but I plan I keeping my truck for a long time and spend a lot of time on the road, so for me it was worth it. Check out my library for pics on the exhaust, and you can check out a link I attached for a...

Pics of 20" Chrome Bullet style rims on a Gen II?

I'm looking to get 20" chrome Bullet/Crager style rims running 265/50/20 rubber on my Gen II Limited. Has anyone done this yet? can you share any pictures? I'd love to see how they would look mounted before I take the plunge.
