You cant really tell that much difference in normal driving. In snow and ice the rear end doesn't try to come around. The power is a little more predictable. I'm not sure if its the motor or transmission. Living on a dirt road is great not to have the rear end coming around on washboard...

I would never put a 2" receiver under a truck without the proper structure (full hitch). That's just asking for a major screw up.

Is it a 4X4? If so the ABS usually goes crazy as the bearings fail. I would add that the hub would have to be VERY bad to hear it.

Dealer told me I needed new tranny .... I replaced the valve body and two of the solenoids. That was 105K miles ago. I might changed the electronic solenoids again. They are easy to replace and did seem to "pep" up the shifting.

Found it ........... One of the 4 bolts that bolts to the front U-joint to the transfer case flange was missing and the others were very loose. New bolt and torquing them down fixed everything. Not sure how the "mechanic" that looked at the drive train missed it!
