    mobile,al

My wife grew up there and her brother still lives there. The previous post mentions Bellingrath Gardens which are very nice. The beach at Dauphin Island is nice and quiet. The beaches at Gulf Shores are nice, but the area is much more touristy and built up. Tons of good restaurants in the area...

Should Ford Import the Ranger or Further Develop Transit Connect?

Ford has done some great things in recent years, but doing away with the Ranger and not offering the 4 door model in the states is just plain stupid! I don't want a full-size pickup truck. Even if got 40mpg, I don't want it. I used to live in Savannah, GA, ever try to navigate a fullsize truck...

Even CNN wishes the "global" Ranger was in the US

I really wish someone from Ford read this: I will not own another Ford Pickup after my Sport Trac! I bought my Ranger in 1994 and loved it, drove to 200,000 miles and gave it to my dad when I bought my ST in 2007 and it is still on the road. I like the ST, but would have preferred the Ranger...

Trailering a motorcycle (Time sensitive request)

I trailered a Harley Road King a long distance last fall and did the 2x4 thing, which was a suggestion from my uncle who has trailered bikes several times from Indiana to Sturgis and Daytona. Anyway, I just used the ratchet straps and with the 2x4's I put one on each side of the bike and drilled...

    Repair Manual for 2007

Liv1185, thanks for the reply. But, I am wondering about something more simple like the Haynes manuals.

    Repair Manual for 2007

Anyone know if there is a repair manual available yet for a 2007 Trac? thanks

    Class II Tow Hitch upgrade

BTW- I trust the weld on this fabrication job much better than I do with someone I don't know cutting the hitch (or crossmember if you want to call it that) completely off and re-welding it back on.

    Class II Tow Hitch upgrade

My camper is around 3400 pounds, so fully loaded for our trip, I would guess that everything weighed about 4000-4200 pounds. My camper has dual axles, which takes a lot off the tongue weight, which is around 250 pounds. Plus, I also had a WD hitch setup as well. I bought a scangauge to keep...

    Class II Tow Hitch upgrade

I had a co-worker's husband (who welds) cutout the 1 1/4 receiver and weld-in a 2 inch receiver. Then I had a local shop redo the wiring in the back to accomodate the brake controller I had installed. Whole project cost me around $250-300. About 1/4 of what the dealer would have charged JUST to...

    New Battery

I just replaced the battery on my '07 V6 about 6 weeks ago too.

Automatic Transmission Fluid Change / Dealership?

I have an 07 V6 with 62000 miles on it and I just had the fluid changed by the dealer. I have always done fluids before, like my wife's minivan which has a drain plug for the transmission fluid. But, the Gen 2 Sport Trac's don't even have dipsticks! The fluid on the Gen 2's has to be siphoned...

    Avg temp of tran fluid?

I just installed the Scangauge last night in my truck and set it up to monitor the transmission fluid temperature. I did this because we are taking our new camper on a long trip in a couple of weeks for Spring Break. I towed a popup before on long trips and never worried about, but this camper...

    Scangauge II/Tranny Temp...work well?

I seen the scangauge mentioned from time-to-time, but I was wondering how the tranny temp gauge works on it? Is anyone happy with it? I have 3500 pound(dry) camper I am getting ready to pull long distance (flat ground along the coast and into Florida) with my 2007 V6 ST and am thinking of using...

    Pic of hitch conversion

Brad B, The camper came with the equalizer and sway bar control. Everything worked great. As for the wiring Harness, I am fine with it, it is about 13-14 inches off the ground as the bottom of the reciever opening is 16 inches off the ground. I am happy with everything.

    Pic of hitch conversion

Many of you may recall that I have posted numerous posts over the last year or two about the hitch conversion and what to do. Well, I finally bought a new camper and had to make the switch. My co-workers husband welds race cars so he did the conversion and I got uhual to do the wiring for the...

Hitch switch over and towing advice

Pics? Of the hitch conversion? I will try to snap a couple at lunch today. Traintrac, that is a nice size camper you are pulling! I am buying a 2006 Rockwood Roo 183. I think from tip of tongue to back of trailer the whole thing measures about 22 feet in length. My '07 has a tranny cooler...

Hitch switch over and towing advice

Well, I switched my hitch over on my 2007, 2WD, V6 ST! I had a 7 pin wiring harness installed and mounted just under the bumper. I think it looks pretty good, funny, I notice other vehicles now with 7 pin adapters under there bumpers when I sit at stop lights. Also, had a prodigy brake...
