FS Roof Rack Coss-bar and other stuff

I have a set of aftermarket cross bars and the clamps that will fit on the Trac's factory roof rails (Gen 1 for sure, not sure about Gen 2). They have 1" square aluminum bars and all 4 clamps have plastic covers that "lock" into place. I hauled a kayak on them easily. $50 plus...

    Traded It In!

A big thanks to all on this forum for all your help and enjoyment while I owned the Trac. Just time for a change. I've driven gas-guzzeler trucks since 1992 and decided it was time to remedy that...so... I bought a 2014 Ford (of course) Fusion Hybrid. Got the SE loaded up, they didn't...

    OEM Motorcraft Battery Eye Question

Just replaced my Interstate battery. It was in the truck when I bought it...in 2006. They make a good battery. I replaced it with a AutoZone Silver for $127. Figured I don't need a seven year battery.

    buy vs lease

8500 miles a year is the PERFECT candidate for leasing. Generally, they have a 12,000 mile limit and you can easily re-negotiate that number. If you keep the vehicle in good shape and don't mod, its a good way to get a high-end vehicle for lots less thsn buying. It just isn't for everything.

    Update on SCT Tuner Experience

I love the 87 towing tune, but I'm much more of a torque kind-of guy. I could care less if if your car can go 150 mph if it takes 2 miles to get there. Give me a hard launch and enough guts to go from 35 to 65 quickly and I'm happy. The towing tune does just that, hard launch, snap shifts...

4G vs 8G for kids tablet

If it is an Android tablet, get as much memory as possible to start off with. Android only allows documents (pics, ebooks, data etc) to be on the external SD cards and only some apps will be allowed to be installed on the SD card. A couple of games will fill up a 4 gig tablet. I don't...

    Help, ST is over heating

Had the exact same symptoms last week. Temp normal, then just shot up to the top of the scale and my HOBDrive showed 257 degrees. I was in traffic, so I stuck it in neutral and gave it a bit of throttle to spin the fan and it dropped right back down to normal.. I watch ed it really closely for...

    Gibson Exhaust

Ok. One fill-up will never show anything related to MPG. Its just not a reliable method. Drive 10 tank-fulls and check it. Evens it all out. Simple statistics...

    Gibson Exhaust

You would be the first person in hhistory to gain 5 mpg going 85 with only an exhsust change. But if you like it, thats all that matters.

    Torshion Bar Adjusters

There is no grade 10.8, did you mean grade 8.8 on OEM? Grinding on the bolt will heat it and remove some of its hardness. I wouldnt do it. Just get regular replacements at a Ford dealer.

Raising Gas Mileage on a 2003

A 100 mile trip is no where enough to check MPG's. This weekend, 531 miles of that 480 at interstate speed, 21.3 total MPG. Thats a 2003 4.0 automatic 2wd with 3.73's. Mobile 1 oil, Valvoline synthetic tranny fluid and a K & N air filter with the cold air mod (Interesting fact, I routinly...

    Windows tablet or Android tablet?

Android is SOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO much better for what it was written to do, mainly surf the net and download media. Never going to replace a dedicated Windows workstation, but how many of us really need all that. Oh, and there aren't any "viruses" on Android yet. Lots of malware and...
