    The Keypad

Keypad has power in every button, but suddenly the factory code does not unlock the doors. 7/9 still locks. Tried finding the troubleshooting link, but when I opened it it didn't work. Any Ideas?

accessory power after key off ???

Do you mean power at the dc outlets? Mine are always powered. 2001 job 1.

How many miles on your ST?

Definately not lemons. I beleive mine is a job one as well, as it has the basic plastic flip cupholder and removable cloth storage bag under the arm rest. I also forgot about the drivers door latch assembly failing when a spring snaped. A few weeks later someone backed into the drivers door...

How many miles on your ST?

The post about hitting 100k got me thinking. How many miles do other ST owners have, and any problems? I'll roll to 162k tomorrow on my 01 4wd ST, and have been fortunate thus far. I've bought it 3 years ago exactly (Feb. 2004) with 50k. Only problems/repairs/maintenance: - Oil...

Looking to buy Used Tonneau- need advice

If I can get time this afternoon I'll get a few pictures. Sometime this week for sure. My truck didn't come with a tonneau, so the only factory hardware I am using are the existing 4 round cargo tiedowns on the lower corners of the side walls. I used standard 2" stainless steel hinges for the...

Looking to buy Used Tonneau- need advice

Not sure how much powder coating would cost. Like I said, Line X quoted me $50 bucks to spray it with the same stuff they use on bedliners, and the said it would work very well. Maybe Line X or Rhino do colors other than black now?...

Looking to buy Used Tonneau- need advice

Dan, Not sure what your intentions are for the tonneau, but for about $200 in materials, you can build a tough tonneau out of aluminum diamondplate. I made mine in 2004 and it is still in perfect shape. It can support as much weight as you can fit on it (i've had 4 people standing on it...

Mental Block - What's that tire brand?

Ahh yes, it WAS the Remington Mud Brutes. Thanks bpoche. Still looks like a mean tire. How did it handle every-day conditions?

Mental Block - What's that tire brand?

Answered my own question again. Looks like BFG's after all, with perhaps just a little TT. But now..... All Terrain or Mud Terrain..... I suppose AT is more practical. MT just looks so cool!

Mental Block - What's that tire brand?

I think I got it! Any how quickly they changed. They were called Renegade Mud Trac's. I searched that and found this private brand called National, which makes a car tire called a Renegade, as well as a number of truck tires linked below. They have a decent range of sizes for a 15" rim too...

Mental Block - What's that tire brand?

Nah, that's not it. It was something that seemed like an off-the-wall brand. Actually, it still seems like an off the wall brand. Thanks though.

Mental Block - What's that tire brand?

Someone here will know what I am thinking of. A long time back someone asked "what's the most agressive-looking tire I can put on the stock 15" rims with no other modifications to the truck. I remember a brand that someone mentioned they had, one I had never heard of. I am almost certain that...

New vehicle Poll, new ST, old ST & Fusion, Diesel?

That is a nice Front-back combo Patrick. Would make a nice pair in my driveway. Imagine if I could get 30 more years out of my ST.... 3 years 100k miles..... 30 more years.... 1 million miles! Now THAT would be a classic.

New vehicle Poll, new ST, old ST & Fusion, Diesel?

That is a nice looking Ford/(Mazda). I think a small spoiler to square up the back might be great.

Anybody have a Fusion or know much about them?

New vehicle Poll, new ST, old ST & Fusion, Diesel?

Yeah, option 2 is the most likely, not only for what is owed vs. milage, but because is the least expensive way. The local dealer, Koons Ford, will actually give me about 4500-5000 on trade, and I am sure I could find a young driver with $6000 or $7000 burning a hole in thier pocket...

New vehicle Poll, new ST, old ST & Fusion, Diesel?

Hi all. So once again, everything is bacl in order with my 150k mile ST. (See "Maybe time to buy a new one" from Jul. 21st to see the conclusion of the srung spring in the door lock). Now back to considering what my next vehicle move will be. My Trac has been great and I would be...

Maybe time for a new one

That's correct, the key fob and keyless entry would unlock all doors EXCEPT the drivers door. But, there is good news, at least in my case. I attempted to repair the sprung spring first using the Mcguyver method. That is, I unwound a paperclip, bent it around the "nub" of the catch...

Maybe time for a new one

Hi all. In case anyone keeping track, at last we spoke I had a small leak out of the thermostat housing, despite using a new O-ring. After using some stuff to clean the joints, there is little-to-no leaks. (Coolant has droped a half inch in 3 weeks). Just when things are back on...
