    Front Hub

I did my right front a few months ago, it was vibrating and very noisy. Job was easier than I thought, and I believe I purchased the part for $100.00 or so. (online vendor)

    Keypad Entry

Mine has been the same way for over a year. I thought it might of been faulty wiring in the door to truck connection inside the door jam. I tried the keypad as I opened and closed the door, and it made no difference, so not sure what it could be. Maybe bad keypad?

    Wheel hub bearing replacement

I did the passenger side on my 02 a few weeks ago. Job was easier than I thought it would be and went without a hitch. The project will give you some good pointers.

    Sport Trac bed length

Gen 1 is 4 ft even, Gen 2 is slightly longer I believe (4.5 ft or so)

I think I need a new fuel pump but I don't want to spend $700

I have a 2002 and have the same issues you are describing. Turns out my fuel pump was not holding pressure after the ST was turned off and the fuel in the lines was leaking back into the tank. Instead of replacing the pump, I now make a habit of cycling the ignition 2x before starting so...

    Starter replacement

I replaced mine two years ago, it was a royal PITA! I had to take off an engine support bracket if I remember correctly. It may be worth the $354 to have the shop do it.

    Old member returning - maybe

My 02 with currently 112,000 miles pulls a 24 ft pontoon with no issues. I certainly know it is back there, but the 4.0 gets its moving just fine. Braking is another story, but overall, it tows pretty well. [Broken External Image]:

Need a sanity check re: tire sizing

I have General Grabber AT2 and love them for an all terrain tire with decent highway manners.

    Slippery Slope

My mom has an 08 Mountaineer with the same traction control system as the 2nd gen ST. I have taken it into a ditch and gotten 2 wheels completely off of the ground. The traction control system brakes those 2 wheels which are just spinning, and transfers the torque to the 2 remaining wheels on...

    Nice truck Sean Murphy!!

Thanks! I made a bar that I attached to the cargo rack to attach the lights to, then I ran the wiring in the weather stripping along the driver's door. I actually took the lights off about a year ago, they made considerable noise at highway speed, especially with the sunroof open. But thanks for...

    lookin for tires

I have the General Grabber AT's. I am on my second pair now, great tire, though they HAVE jumped in price. (all tires have though, since they are a petroleum product) [Broken External Image]:

    Four wheeler

Nope. I have a couple inches of clearance. I also load it rear first for longer trips, eliminating the front bumper issue.

    Four wheeler

It will fit. My Arctic Cat fits in the bed with no issue (snug, but it fits). I think my AC has a larger chassis than the Polaris, so you should be good. Tailgate supports load fine. (I have been on many 200 mile road trips with the tailgate supporting the weight as shown below. [Broken...

110,000 on my 02' and is still running great.

    Mysterious Button on Dash

My parents have an 08 Mountaineer. That button is for the memory seat / mirror option.

    towing question

Below is my 02 ST towing a 24 ft pontoon boat. The trailer itself is about 700-1000 bs, the boat is about 2500 lbs, so figure a 3.5 - 4 k total. Truck tows it well, but I can definitely feel it back there especially when braking. [Broken External Image]:

    Starter

I had the IDENTICAL problem a month or so ago. It was the starter. Once I replace it, the issue never occurred again. If you can't get it to engage, I was able to get it moving after hitting it with a hammer a few times. But, ultimately I had to replace the starter to get everything working again.

    ST wont crank

Thanks for the help guys. I fixed it. Turns out it was the P,R,N,D,2,1 position. When I pulled the steering column shift selector up towards the roof, the truck was then able to start. Still weird though, because I tried starting it in neutral before, and it didn't work, but all is well for now...

    ST wont crank

The radio and dashboard lights all function, its is just the starter that does not engage. Could that still be the ignition switch? I don't get any clicking from the starter at all, just turn the key and nothing other than the dash warning lights etc. Thanks for the help guys!

    ST wont crank

Thanks for the replies. I don't it is the starter, because it does not even click. Battery is good, I tried jump starting and it has the exact same symptoms... Is there a switch that turns power over to the starter from the ignition? I have been cycling the ignition 3x before starting it for the...
