My 03 used to get over 25, just barely over, by doing the same thing. And that was uphill nearly the entire way, I would bet on a flat straightaway it'd get much better.

they mount with two screws each, I suppose you could drill through the oem tonneau *IF* you know what's in it. On the fiberglass cap its just fiberglass so you don't have to worry about what is in the middle of it. The OEM one has stuff inside.
