    78,000 miles today.

I have a 2003 as welland only have 75,400 miles. The only thing I've done is changed plugs, plug wires, radiator, front brakes 2x, rear brakes 1x, new set of tires, tranny flush and many many oil/filter changes and added a K&N drop-in filter.

    Rear Diff Fluid

I have a 2003 Trac. When should a rear diff fluid be changed? The manual says 100k miles. Local mechanics says 30k according to Ford recommendations.

    Brake Dust

These sound great but have two concerns: 1) will the rotors have enough ventilation and 2) will the shields get damaged when a tech rotates and balances your wheels as it appears they are wedged between the hub and the wheel?

    K & N Air Filter part 2

This is a follow up post from last week. Last week I purchased a K & N drop-in filter for my 03 Trac. First thing I noticed was the performance and how smooth the truck shifted and went up hills without much effort, etc. I still wasn't satisfied and I wanted to increase my city MPG. What I did...

    K & N Air Filter

I have recently been reading about K&N filters and decided to bite the bullet and purchase a drop-in replacement filter. It's the best decision I've made. The Trac seems to drive and handle much better. For example, accelerating up a hill seems to take 1/2 the amount of energy as before. It...

    Rear Door Locks

Same issue with my Trac, I justy need to fix it.

    oil leaks

I have the same question and research on the matter has brought me back to square 1. From what I've read, syn oil does not cause leaks, but I do believe it will clean your engine and gaskets and that can possible point out leaks because the old dino was preventing the seals from leaking. I know...

    spare tire lowering devise.

Won't silicone spray on dry preventing sand and dirt from adhering to the surface that is sprayed? I agree that grease will attach all sorts of things.

    Oil Recommendation

I have a general question for the forum. I have another truck (non Sport Trac) with 192k miles. I'm running high mileage 10W30 Valvoline synthetic blend. When I crank-up the engine, the lifters tick for about 3-4 minutes then it goes away. I've tried adding 1 qt. of Lucas engine oil treatment...

    Engine Tremble

martinaaron, I have a '03 with 65k miles and my Trac did the same thing until I had my mechanic add 44k to my tank and performed an induction cleaning. It stopped studdering at red lights.

Arturo: On your mom's car have the brake switch checked.

Transmission - Jerking when placed in drive

I have a general question to the mechanically inclinded: I have a '99 Honda Accord and when you shift the car from reverse to drive, it jerks (makes a slight clunk sound). I have had the front engine mount replaced and the tranny flushed and new fluid added. The car has 140k original miles...

    Wont shift out of Park

The brake switch and labor was $83. You can probably do it yourself if you're small enough to get under the drivers steering column.

    Wont shift out of Park

I have a '99 Accord and whenever it will not shift from PARK to Reverse or Drive it was always the brake switch. I've had mine replaced 2x within 140k miles.
