You missed the Shocktober rebate deal. They do it every year but I know it might not be worth it to wait till it comes back around. I picked my Sensa Tracs up for my 2003 4x4 from Advance Auto Parts. They always have coupon codes for various percentages off. Between the the coupon...

Found some cancer on the Trac

So I took the steps of the 2003 XLT for the first time so I could sand them down and paint them. Where the brackets attach to the truck itself I found some rust. You couldn't see it with the brackets on so it was hiding all this time. Was able to push a some small holes into the area...

Update on my custom first in the world swingout tire carrier on a Sport Trac...

Do you have some type of latching mechinism for the situation when you need to have the tailgate down when hauling items longer then the truck bed? Perhaps latches to the side of the tailgate (that is usually hidden when it is closed)?

    Serpentine belt

I changed my original 2003 belt with ~100,000 miles on it a few months ago. At the same time changed the idler and tensioner pulley per others advice. Used the Goodyear 4060860 Gatorback belt and dayco pulleys. To get the job done I used a Gear Wrench 3680 Serpentine Belt Tool. Took me...

Serp Belt, Idler, and Tensioner Pulley Question

I used a Goodyear 4060860 Gatorback Poly V-Belt (payed ~$22 from amazon). This belt is .5 inch smaller than stock. There a lot of posts on this site about how the .5 inch smaller belt is better. So I took everyones advice. Havent had any issue with it yet after three months.

Just did this myself. Used a turkey baster I got from the dollar store. Sucked out all the fluid I could from the reservoir. Added new fluid then drove around for a bit. Repeat.

Replace tensioner assembly or just pulley?

A little over 100k miles now and I am going to finally change my serpentine belt. I read through the various threads on the message board about this and see that people recommend when doing this to also change out the tensioner and the idler pulley. My question is, should I change out...

FYI - How much mulch in the bed?

I always leave the tailgate up when I get a yard of mulch. Then when I get back to my house, I just take it off and scoop it out. Its much easier this way since you don't have to deal with the mulch that falls in the space between the bed and the tailgate.
